Spot the Daisy

I like this picture taken at the Mount Beach today.. Focus is on the yellow daisy with the shrubs and sea in the background.

Very Small Hopper!

This very small hopper with its long feelers is sitting on the edge of a small daisy leaf down at the beach today. Fantastic day, went for a nice walk along the beach and round the Mount.

Kite-Surfer getting ready to leap out of the water

Was down at Ferguson Park on Saturday late afternoon watching Chloe and Lee launch their boat they have just brought and got a few photos of some Kite-Surfers down at the park. Was a pretty windy and grey afternoon as they raced back and forth across the bay, some of them leaping really high out off the water.

Para-Glider up the Mount

Sunday was spent watching the Christmas Parade at the Mount then climbed the Mount afterwards. Was a guy setting up and launching his Para-Glider.. was great to watch as once the canopy filled with air and a bit of wind.. he was off! just about took out a few people watching standing too close as he raced skywards.

Model Boat Racing in Tauranga

Another great weekend here in sunny Tauranga (well a bit of wind and a little cooler than it should be! :-) ) Went down to the model boat racing in Tauranga on Saturday and got a few good pictures.. some of these boats can travel at 100km's so are pretty quick. The bottom photo was taken in March 2008 in the same spot with 'real' boat racing.

Mt Maunganui

What fantastic weather we are having.. This weekend went for a walk up the mount.. I usually walk around it.. so much easier! :-) so decided had better start walking up for a change.
Just 20 min to walk up the 232 Mtr hill .. have to admit near the end was a little huffing and a bit of puff to get up there!
Was a Tui flying around feeding up the top...

It's a peice of art or a jumbled mess!! lol but thats photography!

A couple of Blossoms

Such a nice Sunday.. This morning sitting at the table doing some study!! so decided to take a break and walk across the road to the gardens and take a few pictures of the trees all in blossom.

I think winter is over!! Yea! has been one of the coldest we have had for a while. Looking forward to some weekends away tenting very soon now the weather is getting warmer!

A peice of railway

On our way to the new bridge we walked along the rail bridge and track so thought would take a few pictures.

I like this one.. a segment of the track with some rotting timber sleepers

New Bridge between Tauranga and Mt Maunganui

Was a fantastic day this Fathers day as Emily, Mike and kids along with Brad joined about 20.000 people to walk across the new bridge. The fly-over is not yet complete just the new bridge has been opened.. the old one will have some repairs and then in a few months time the new road with both bridges will be opened

A couple of PhotoShop pictures

What a fantastic Saturday... About time we had some nice weather!.. though today (Sunday) is raining.. Was all set to go and do some spinning off the rocks with Brad but the rain started.

At work I had a small PhotoShop comp for all of our team to enter. I did up these two photos for it. One photo you had to use the clone tool and the other was to put someone from one photo into another.

Waterfall in the Bird Enclosure

Such a nice enclosure this small waterfall is in... with lots of Native birds including Wood-Pigeons and Tui's right next to you...

A couple of Cheaters

So many photos to choose from to put on here of the trip to the zoo!.. I really enjoyed seeing these Cheaters eyeing me up!

Cold and Alone!

Had a great time at the Hamilton zoo with Emily and Isabella today....

Such a sad photo this one.. The Chimps are usually running around all over the massive enclosure but they had introduced some new females and had been a lot of fighting.. This Chimp was on his own.. blanket in hand far away from the others in the cold windy morning!
