Another fantastic day here in sunny Tauranga.. While taking a quick walk round the side of the Mount in between jobs today, I snapped this photo of a boat sailing out from the entrance... something quite different :-)

What a fantastic day... took some time out and headed to the beach for a walk as I know this weather isn't going to last :-( The beach was packed out! with a surf life saving event in progress.

I have been employed by the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic for seven years,. I have worked as the Operations Coordinator/Team Leader for three different computer courses that have taken place at the Polytechnic, community venues and at many local business premises. Several thousand people have enrolled into these courses which unfortunately were made redundant along with myself at the end of December/early January due to cuts in government funding
Still looking for my new job in Tauranga!

Went out for a big walk this morning....Fantastic day walking across the bridge looking at the container wharf and boats. Came across an old iron gate full of old cobwebs... something different.

A day out on the water

Was great to get out on the water again.. it's been a while. Went out on a friends cat and headed out past A buoy for a snapper fish. I love heading out to sea and checking out the Mount from a different angle.
The weather was a bit dull and drizzly out there, but still was a fantastic day. Caught our limit of 9 snapper each plus a few other fish....lots of Kingfish swimming around the boat and hassling the snapper as the came up to the boat. Saw a good size flying fish as it lept out of the water and 'flew' across the swells. Pretty impresvie to watch.

Applied for a few more jobs so now just waiting for that call! :-)

Well time is sure flying by!

After coming back from Taupo on the 10th Jan I have spent Mon to Fri working on the house... gardens, painting the ceilings, painting the play room, waterblasting the house, getting quotes for the new fit-out.....
If the rain stops!!! next week I will be building a nice rock garden/waterfall and a 2.5mtr bridge for the Japanese garden I am creating.. I have applied for a great job.. so are now waiting to hear back...

2011

Wow.. that didn't take long!.. 2011 is now here. Talk about being real slack on my blog last year!.. My new years res is to get back into it.. get back into taking some photos.

Sooo... 2011 will bring a big change in my life.. after 7 years working at the Polytechnic, myself and my team have been made redundent due to cuts in goverment funding, so as of right now I am looking for a new job.

I am also right in the middle of doing up my house.. new carpets, wallpaper, kitchen, bathrooms, deck, and gardens so will be putting most of this on hold for now untill I get a new job!

Hamilton Zoo

Took Bella and Denise & girls to the zoo on the weekend.. Lots of fun though Bella didn't like any of the animals at all!!

I enjoyed the Tiger and love the Monkeys. Was great to see the sun for a change! :-)

Looking forward to the Mount on a 45 angle!

Was a great weekend in that we had a nice family Mid-Winter (late) Christmas dinner complete with jam and cheese samies!.. This morning it wasn't raining!!!!! so I went for a walk down at the Marina.. Still very cold.. I can't wait for summer as have had enough of the cold.. hhhmmm I must be getting old maybe?
